Silverlight finally announced

So its finally out, announced and showcased at NAB this morning. The name is not what I was hoping for, but the reaction seems to be pretty good and it is a distinct improvement of wpf/e! Tim Sneath tells us all about what's in it here and for those of us playing with it for a while there's some more technical stuff here... More to follow on this soon...

mixing it in Vegas

You may have seen from the graphic that I've plopped on the main blog that I am off to Las Vegas at the end of April for the annual Microsoft extravaganza that is Mix. It is rumoured that there are going to be some big announcements while we are there and it has quite a lot of design oriented stuff as well as the hard core tech stuff. There's a bewildering host of sessions to attend but I am looking forward to seeing a few people showing off some new stuff, finding out what is going to be said about microformats, the video stuff (obviously), and of course seeing some real development tools for wpf/e!
The icing on the cake is that we get a copy of Vista Ultimate to take home.. well its either that or the fact that it is being held in Las Vegas ;)
